Basic Life Support
Basic Life Support (BLS) is non-emergency transportation for patients who require continuous medical supervision and monitoring. Our ambulances are staffed with emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who are licensed through the Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
The ambulance team is trained to monitor the patient’s condition while being transported to their destination. This includes the checking of pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, level of consciousness, administration of oxygen (when the patient is unable to supply their own portable oxygen).
